Welcome to Sri Vinayaka
One art form, many disciplines
Founded in 1986 by Bharatanatyam artist, vocalist, teacher and choreographer Sitrawatie Bonoo. For four decades, Sri Vinayaka has been dedicated to the teaching, practice and performance of Indian classical performing arts in the Netherlands.
For me, Bharatanatyam is more than dance. Movement, music, rhythm, expression, storytelling and theory come together as one art form. Students not only learn movement and repertoire, but gradually develop a deeper understanding of the music, rhythm and artistic and cultural background of the dance.
Artistic quality, knowledge and personal development are central to this approach.
